    Watch out crappie. Jigs look very proffessional. Great job.

    Thanks again fellas. Hopefully, I'll have some more to tie and show very soon.

    Chuck,

    I see that you are originally from Terre Haute. So am I.

    You didn't happen to have an outdoors show on what used to be call-lettered WIIL (before it became WBAK) TV-38 back in the 70s, did you? I seem to remember your name and a fellow named Gary Auten. Maybe, he's your brother?

    I watched a few episodes of it and enjoyed it.

    Hi pup. Thanks for the compliment. Yes, Gary and I had a show on channel 38, "LETS GO FISHING" 1 hour a week for 18 mo.. We had a great time teaching and meeting great people.

    Gary's son is in Benton and has created "Auten Interactive" Beth, his wife created "Classic Patterns" They are in Michigan this weekend hunting turkeys with Van Dam.

    Were did you go to school? I will be back in TH from the 5/26 till the middle of September. Maybe we can get together for coffee. I come to Indpls to pick up parts or personally shop. My cell phone is 812-249-0066. I see that some people are catching a few, but not the 13 - 16" slabs. I was looking forward to coming to a slabfest and meeting IN crappie fishermen, but the rule that you had to be a resident, shut me out. I go to GA and FL slabfest - no such rule. Everybody is welcome. One couple travels from PA meet everyone and fish. As I said, met a great group of fishermen.

    Catch a bunch.

    Chuck,

    I went to TH South, Purdue U., and, finally, ISU. Do you remember the Lunkershed? ISU AV guys L. Haller and C. Paulin as I recall? I sure would like to get together with you sometime. Bet we'd have some interesting stories to tell. My father taught Life Sciences and did research at ISU for 20+ some odd years.

    Now, as to the other reply.

    So what?
    Now to answer you.... He said they were old school which i thought was funny since the fly patterns i use for Brookies up here are the same patterns that have been around for a hundred years... So what he calls old school with his jigs we have been using that look ever since i can remember...Not sure why you chimed in Puppy as it wasnt intended for you or even as a slam.. If he looked in the "Jigs NY Style" thread you would see what im talking about...

    Balls in your court...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
