    Default Making extras!!!!

I keep seeing the photo's of the jigs and a word of advice from a fly tyer!!! We have a saying that tie at least a dozen of a pattern to make em look really good, now in jigs 1/2 dz would be good cause sure as heck when you're out fishing the one that catch's the most is the one you ONLY HAVE ONE OF!!! and sure as heck you're gonna lose it!!!!!!!!!LOL

    Enjoy

I am just trying to get a variety, a dozen of each?!?! I need a shelf for all the boxes to store all of them.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I agree with Fatman.when I first started tying I made a bunch of singles and sure enough I'd lose the hot color jig. Then I started doing two, then three until now 6 at least go in my boxes.I bank fish around some jig eating trees and rocks so the extras really pay off.If I lose 5 of a hot color I'll save the sixth to make more.

Knowing my luck I will have a bunch I think will work and only have 1 or 2 of ones I think are way off base and have them work. Once I know what the fish like here it will be easier to make a bunch of similar ones so I always have plenty of them.

I like to make doubles of a jig that I am testing and then make a half dozen to a dozen of jigs once the prove themselves. Otherwise if I have only one I will end up losing it.
