    Default Glow Jigs! (Hair)?

Ok does anyone have any suggestions to point me into the right direction to locate what I need to make some Hair Jigs that Glow in the Dark? I have seen a few tied by others but I mainly want to know where to get the material and what type of hair is available. I have seen some Jig head paints also, but what works for you guys?

There is about any kind of hair you can think of out there if you want it. It just depends on what kind you want?

Deer hair (tail & Body), Elk, Moose, Arctic Fox Fur, squirrel, etc. The list keeps going.

Sorry I don't tell how I make my Glow Jigs.

If you want to make your jigs glow then paint the head glow. That is how I make my jigs have some glow to them. I think there is a synthetic material that is glow. I will post a link to it if I find it again.

Treefrog besides using the glow paints for the heads you might take a look at some of these ideas:
    Glow Flashabou at http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/flashabou/635102.aspx
Glow Mono Threads found this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
Also a product that should work on just about any materials or hair http://monic.com/AQUAGLO.cfm
Hope some of this will help you in your quest for that magic jig.

Thanks for the helpful tips Fishhunter and Crappiekid, its good to have those willing to share info, this is exactly the type response I was hoping for. That Glow Flashabou may just be the ticket and Aquaglo is intresting I will need to research that. As far as all of the types of hair out there I am aware of whats redily available but I know there is some way to acheive a GLOW HAIR, and that is what I am after. I am sure that with time I will figure out the process. There are several others that have glow jigs as well even to the point of even using Guenie Feathers that glow, In fact Bill English who is from East Texas has some great looking glow jigs. Skip, I didnt even realize you tied a glow jig, and I was not wanting any top secret information, just a nudge in the right direction. I know what its like having something of your own design taken and suddenly recreated by someone else. Were all here to help one another and I hope that any information that I come across I can pass on to you guys. If anyone else is searching for this as well I will be glad to pass on any tips I come across. I have located the glow paint which is made by Pro Tec in the powder paint form. I love that stuff:D Also I noticed in the Barlows catalog that they have spools of phosphorescent tinsel. Combine this with the products that Fishhunter mentioned and we are half way there. Hope to see more information on this, and post some pics soon:D

Glow Flashabou does pretty good for a glow tail, but that Glow Paint Sux IMHO. I tried some of that and it is so weak it still have the hole bottles I bought and refuse to use it.

I have no problem sharing normal info, but my glow jig are not like any other out there as far as I can see and if you think it's easy to come up with just ask ship. He has tried for a long time now and still doesn't have it.

I spent a lot of time coming up this my idea and to give that away to someone not willing to work it out for them selves is not something I am willing to do.

Not only that it would not be very smart business wise for me to just throw out one of my business secrets at the drop of a hat. If there were others out there doing what I do then it would not matter, but there is not.

    Just my opinion,

I would use powder paint, where you just heat jig,dip in jar of paint--then be sure to cure paint in oven at about 250 degrees so you have a super tuff coating. You should be able to find several types of jig materals in glow including glow in mylar type synthetic materials. The net craft co. or Barlows should have all the glow materials you will ever need to make glow jigs.My two favorite glow powder paint colors are orange and yellow chartreuse.

I don't see where someone asking about where to get or how to make glow hair is contrary to your business. Glow hair jigs have been sold in Winnfield long before you got into tying which was the same time as Treefrog and I. We just got into it for ourselves and you got in it to make money. Kindof reminds me of a hair jig that would accept the bait pump that he and I worked on for months and all of a sudden when one person saw one of ours in person, he went and made one and told the world he thought this up on his own and had never seen one before. Remember this episode? Let's not use this forum as a personel advertisement thing only and not SHARE info. If all you want out of it is to sell, then I think you should ask ED to replace you.
