Default Pro Tec Powder Paint “Candy”

Can anyone here help with with painting jigs with Pro Tec Candy paint? I think the way to do it is:

1 Paint with Silver (or Chrome?) paint
2 Cure in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes
    3 Allow to cool.
    4 Paint with Candy paint
5 Bake again at 350 for 20 minutes.

    What say you all?

I personally use a disco silver or gold first, then dip into the candy directly after and then bake at 325 for 15,,, I like to bake it at lower temp to prevent drippage….usually comes our good,,,you can also use crinkle paint under it for a super cool look,,,

It doesn't have to be a silver or chrome, you can experiment with any base coat. it does need a base coat under it though. Some you can do heat, dip in base, heat for a second, dip in candy. Some you have to cool and cure between coats. Again experiment and see.

Candy over black, gold, white, silver, chartreuse, they all look cool in different ways. Just cant do candy over lead or it will run everywhere

I never double bake anything. I heat, then dip in base coat then right into candy or whatever color. Then I bake on 320 for 20 minutes. Been doing it that way on every color forever no issues. I like dipping colors in whatever candy color is closer to them. Pink in pink, yellow chartreuse in yellow, etc. Here is a green chartreuse in green candy.

I also like pinching green candy and sprinkling along the top and bottom of a jig painted with yellow chartreuse. Kinda like how I did the pearl with black above. Gives it an extra depth and looks really neat. Can do the same with other colors. Hard to tell in the pic but looks neat in person.

All. Good lookin work. I’m doing well to do a single color and dip some with a brush over that.
