Silver Crappie Jigs

Our lake is very clear with red banks, many of the tree lined. We do a lot of brush pile fishing here. 12-20 feet deep. Sometimes a little deeper. I am finding that silver is a good color here. I have Silver and Silver Pearl chenille. What tail materials and head colors have you found to work well on a silver bodied jig? Also, how important do you think head color is to the success of a jig? Thanks for your responses.

I've had really good luck with the silver and white with a white or silver head. It consistently produces fish year around in stained or clear water.
Had days that the silver and pink work well. If fish stop hitting one then I switch colors and will usually pick up a few more out of a group before moving on.

I would add chartreuse and a deep purple.

I use either a black and chrome tail or a glow in the dark white sparkle tail….pearl white with black dots ain’t bad either,,

Blue silver white has been good colors for me.

I've had good luck using light gray bucktail with a smoke colored head and various flashes.

Here's one in 1/8 oz with a number two hook. It has gray ghost bait, fish emulator, light gray Buck, and light blue Palmer Chenille.

Like you said, it's a good all-around color scheme for dirty or clear water. One of my favorite colors.
