    Default Yesterday tied jigs

After painting the bluegill heads I tied several for testing tomorrow. I dyed some glow wedge tails using spike it pens for these. Tie in tail, add some flash and finish with fox. Then did a half dozen 1/20 wedge tails two ways using dyed tips. Wedge tails are growing on me. Need more colors.Name: IMG_4959.jpg

    Sweet jigs!
The best thing my dad ever gave me was his love of fishing.

Got out before sun came out and it was chilly and slow the first hour, caught my first river white crappie of the year but was small, no pics. Caught a couple decent bass throwing the new fox jigs. Seems that whenever I apply slab sauce to jig I'd get bit in the first few casts. Did catch a smaller bass that might be a smallmouth/kentucky hybrid. Ended with four bass and two white crappie. River came up a foot with the rain we got but still low. Hooked a nice hybrid striper that whipped me and headed for tree, tried to stop it by pinching the line on rod but line broke. Seems like the bigger fish always bite the rod with the 4# line on it. Would have been great to get some pics of that one.
