Thanks everyone. There are Walleye in the area but I don't run into them very often, usually catch one while fishing for something else. There is a down tree just down from where I was standing just a few inches below the surface. Every few minutes something would chase minnows out of it busting them on the surface but couldn't get a bite there, drove me crazy. This spot will hold a lot more fish once we get some rain and depth. River is several feet low, only a few feet deep there right now.
