Discovered a fly shop nearby. The amount of materials and tools is amazing. Wow!

Boy oh boy, pretty shiny colors everywhere! Chenilles, flash, rubber legs, feathers, glue, thread, wire....so many that I have never seen before. My imagination runs wild!

Kid in a candy store syndrome for sure...Only good thing that comes of this is some awesome jigs. Can't wait to see them.

Not sure what's going on at my local fly shop. Last few times in, there were more empty hooks than had products. I hope they get it straightened out. Next closest fly shop is an over an hour away...Ouch. That's not a big box store. The home BPS store and warehouse is here...

Thanks Eric. Tied up some size 10 3xl wet skunk variations today along with a couple bluegill jig-flies. New flash, rubber legs, synthetic peacock herl in 2 colors were used with more materials to try. Giving up on posting pics. They just don't turn out well.

Guess I'm just stubborn. I either figure it out, or break down and get help. Our problem today is we didn't grow up with all this electronic gadgetry the kids are today. Give most of them a standard tranny, a rotary phone, a type writer, an old fashioned crank copy machine, and an encyclopedia and they would be as lost or worse than we are...lol

I have two awesome fly shops within 15 minute drive for me. When I first started tying 30 years ago I made weekly visits to both and this went on for many years. Have enough now that I could start a fly/jig shop. Been meaning to sell off a bunch of materials but too lazy. Used to buy marabou by the pound and have flash in 1 oz. and larger for back in the day when I was tying wholesale, even did some fishing sport shows for awhile. Retired from all of that and have enough materials that I couldn't use it all in several lifetimes. Still hit the shops but have a little more discipline now than I did before. Except last year when the Stardust paint came out and dropped a few hundred on that. Like how jigs turned out with it but haven't used it in months. When it comes to fishing I'm a hoarder.
