That's what I was trying to warn you about...I call it "Small child in the Candy Store Effect". I consider myself a rookie at tying yet, even after 8 yrs. of off/on tying. Walk in a tyers shop, and my head goes bonkers...sometimes I'll get everything I think I went for, and many things I didn't, and will have to go back because I forgot a key ingredient in a pattern I wanted to tie. Way to many distractions for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your ties, so be sure to post them up.

My favorite online site for tying materials is Woods & Water. Patrick ships the sameday and he provides lots of options.

I went to the fly fishing show in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. The vise most professional there used was the nor-vise line of vises. I will say it’s the most impressive vise I saw but also the most expensive.
I use a Griffin Spider. It’s a great vise to get stared tying with. I’ve used mine for over twenty years and used it a lot. It’s getting to where it’s getting hard to turn. I’ve always kept it lubricated. I called to discuss the problem and the replacement parts were almost as much as I paid for the vise when I first bought it. So I looked at vises at the show and for my budget it came down to the Peak or the Renzetti. I’m still back and forth on which one to purchase. I’m most likely going to purchase the Renzetti 2000

I would buy a Law vise if I had the money. Can you believe the price they are wanting for them?
