It's not hard you just cut a tiny piece of heat shrink tube and slip over the eye of the jig. Then when you heat jig it shrinks, you paint jig then pull the tube off leaving a clean eye. Depends on the size of jig but usually I use 1/16" tube.

I like using tin foil to cover the eyes before I dip them. Cut some 1/4-1/2 inch strips of tin foil and just tear off a piece about an inch or so long and pinch it over/around the eye.

The 3' stick of threaded rod cost me @ $4 at Ace Hardware.

Yes the most important thing is to fluff the paint and dip the head with a swirling motion for 1/2 a second. I also use my hands instead of a hemostat to dip the heads in the paint. It gives me alot more control. Everyone has a specific way they do it. To the OP, those jigs look fine. Your off to a great start.

I know this started as a classified. But it has become a learning tool . So I'm moving it to the jig making forum. I will leave a one day redirect. "D"

After painting head stick a needle through the eye. I use my half hitch tool for this. Then set it aside while it cools and paint another one. Repeat. I hold hook with hemostats at the bend, heat head and shake/dip head into paint, then needle through hook eye. I could paint 150 jigs in an hour this way. Lot's of different ways to paint jigs, key is finding what works best for you.
