Ohio wow!. Nice catches. I was out at West Branch and Berlin in Northeast Ohio this past Sunday and all I caught was a big cut and knot on my forehead from a branch whacking me in the head as I was going through thick woods and brush trying to get to a spot where I normally can only get to by boat. I know I can catch crappie there but I can't get to the spot by walking.
Both reservoirs are down so low as we had to let water out all summer for the southern boys and the Mississippi so they could still get their river barge traffic moving with the drought that they had this past summer. Boat is put away for winter and all my shore spots are out of the water or too far to reach by shore.
Right now my home lake is 5' below winter pool.
CrappieDreamer and Shmang- Are you boat fishing or shore and what part of the state are you in? Great job!

Hopefully all this rain the south has been getting last week, today and the third one this weekend with put a dent in the Southern US drought.

I am in SW Ohio, Hamilton County. We are taking the kayak out. We get about an hour before the cold forces us off the water.
Thanks Opie1 thanked you for this post

Wow! That’s a very nice haul there. Great job. That must have been one heck of a fun day on the water. How deep were they holding at that water temp?

most were caught in 40-60FOW and 18-25 ft deep. I also caught a bunch in 15-20FOW around trees and brush.

Ahhh, I figured you were either there or that other lake known for crappie in SW Ohio . I always stop there when I drive to Cincinnati to visit P&G for work. Reminds me of West Branch, my home lake in NEOhio. Most people don't catch squat in those two lakes but the crappie that are there are some great quality.
