    Default HAIR JIGS

I made these for winter time bass fishing but I'm sure a big slab crappie would eat them if I get lucky and put it in front of one. These are 3/32-1/8 heads with #1 and 1/0 jig hooks. Materials used are black bear, opossum, flash, small dragon tails that I trimmed back the bulky part. These are 2.5-3" long, perfect snack size for bass. I've caught Bass up to 9.5 lbs. using hair jigs like this.Name: IMG_4686.jpg

I fish these on light gear, usually 4# but sometimes 6# when hybrid stripers are around. I use scent with these and Slab Sauce is probably my favorite for Bass. For some reason I catch more bass using Slab Sauce than crappie. Bear has better movement than bucktail but not as much as bunny strips. Best bait ever for me during the cold water period, catch bass with ice still on the lakes. Fish them slow is the way to go.

I like em Jim. Kind of a leech style with a flair. I have some possum that I’ll have to try now. Don’t think I have any bear yet but I remember the doll fly made from polar bear, it had a different look and action. Back to the bench.
