That’s a nice box of jigs! I know how well they work. Now getting used to casting them is another story. So much fun to catch a good sized fish on a jig so small.

Do you use any different of a technique wrapping your chenille as opposed to a larger jig? I'm just getting into tying little guys and I've only been using thread. It seems like it would be tricky to get chenille in there... but this makes me want to give it a shot.

I feel for you guys in the cold. It was 85 here today. But if it's any consolation....there are no crappies here in St. Lucia. But I can buy fresh Dolphin, Tuna or Red Snapper for about $4.50 a pound off the boats...so it's not too bad.

I tie my chenille in behind the head and wrap thread over it to the rear where the tail is tied in , the wrap line forward to where I tied it in .
Then spiral wrap chenille forward to the head and toe off with three or four turns of thread. A couple half hitches and then whip finish .
My micro jigs are probably the simplest jig or fly I’ve ever tied .
The micro woolybooger used to be my favorite, until I realized it worked just as good without the palmered hackle . Casts easier too with the hackle catching air .

Tying is such a great winter hobby. It helps keep your thoughts on fishing.
