    Default Question on Feathers

Some time ago I was gifted some duck flank feathers. Don't remember by who at this time, and didn't really know at the time what to do with them as most were all curled up, stem curl. Would some one please tell me how to uncurl them. Thanks. Most are really small feathers. Eric.

I've asked before about straightening feathers and was told steam would straighten them but haven't really tried. Maybe a flat iron worth trying as well.

Thank you for the reply Dave. I was hoping someone might jump in with a method.

No steaming needed. Just cut the thicker bottom portion off, put them in a plastic bag and squeeze out air until flat. After a couple weeks most of the curl is gone. I always have a couple bags stored this way so they are ready when I need them.Name: IMG_4573.jpg
