I've asked before about straightening feathers and was told steam would straighten them but haven't really tried. Maybe a flat iron worth trying as well.
Some time ago I was gifted some duck flank feathers. Don't remember by who at this time, and didn't really know at the time what to do with them as most were all curled up, stem curl. Would some one please tell me how to uncurl them. Thanks. Most are really small feathers. Eric.

Used to steam feather fletch on our traditional arrows to straighten them back out.

No steaming needed. Just cut the thicker bottom portion off, put them in a plastic bag and squeeze out air until flat. After a couple weeks most of the curl is gone. I always have a couple bags stored this way so they are ready when I need them.
Thank you Jim, and MCG1. Greatly appreciate the info and help.
