    Default First Darter jig ties


    I made these on a 1/8 oz head with a #1 Mustad Ultrapoint. The shad color baits were made using opossum hair and flash and the bluegill pattern with flash, saddle hackle that I dyed, opossum and black bear hair at the collar. Baits average 3" long so bass and crappie should eat these. Final ingredient in these will be slab sauce. I catch more bass with it than crappie. Name:  IMG_4479.jpg

    Those look good Jim. I tied some real small ones a few years back in 1/16 and they not only caught fish but they dropped really fast in current. I might even have a couple left. I didn’t pour them and mine were painted white.
