    Default Underspins Losing Fish ???

Hi I purchased a 1632 Doit mold for making underspins . The mold works fine but I have been having an issue losing fish on the 1/32 lure with a #6 hook . I switched to Eagle Claw hooks on this batch but they seem sharp enough . Has anyone else had an issue like this? I use other 1/32 jigs I have poured without this kind of problem . Any help would be appreciated .

    Steve

It very well could be the hooks. Eagle Claw has a bigger hook barb than other manufacturers and takes more force to penetrate past the barb. I'd try a different brand and you'll probably lose less fish.

Some of my jig heads need a particular hook to work best. Try something new as mentioned.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Yeah thanks for the feedback . Its a pony head jig not the 1632 . I will try different hooks I have some mustads I can use . It surprises me the hook Doit recommends is causing me problems , oh well live and learn lol.

I have a Do-It mold and the recommended hook did the exact same thing. I was losing half of the fish I hooked. I tossed those jigs and made new ones with a hook that barely fit and the issue was over with.
Maybe they will bite this one……

I have tied a lot of 1/32 Oz Pony heads and don't have that issue, but I still use the old Matuzo #4 Stickle hooks.
