Just choose one that is use with a board, a pedestal base and you can have a fixed or a rotating vise. Of course the fixed is less costly! Peak makes both kinds and is a very good vise!

I am new to tying and I went from 2 vise grips(really) to a chunk of 2x12 with a $20 c-clamp vise. I was wondering about a portable vise, not for stream side tying, but for loooong road trips(tying in the car). I can do it (I tried with my 2x12 the other day LOL). Any suggestions?
as always, thanks for the help!

I think Hagens still has a really good vise for not a second mortgage on the house.
