Awesomeness, that is a neat jig box! And here is a link to their website although it appears they don’t sell fishing stuff online.

Went to a Dr Appt in Shreveport and my wife saw a sign for The Crappie Shop. We turned around to check it out. Mr Howard was a cool man and had quite a bit of stock for jigs and flies. I told him what i was tying and what i had questions about. Next thing i knew he was showing me how to do what i wanted and sent me home with the jigs he tied for examples. He told me anytime i was in town to come tie with him. We are both veterans so we swapped war stories and he was very nice to my wife. Always one to buy from small businesses i came home with goodies.

That is a cool jig box. It probably would get him a lot of business if he did care about the Internet. Looked online at the link and he does have some pics uploaded. The one with the hackle and such on the wall made me drool…..lol. I’d love to have somewhere close with that much tying inventory.
Some of the flies he showed me were amazing. From bass poppers made entirely from deer hair to some so tiny they were hard to see. The inventory was spread out in different rooms. That pic with the tackle etc is a pretty good idea of the kind of inventory he has. Next time I go to the VA I'm gonna go spend some time there learning.
The jig box is nice. Has a good seal.
When ever I'm in the area, I'll be sure to drop in and offer up a How-Do fer sure...

I also heard good things about the shop and owner for a coworker, apparently what turned into a 15 minute stop turned into an hour lesson on jig tying lol. Coworkers said he learned a few things.

gemin8, welcome from Central Florida.
I’ve stopped into a few fly and crappie shops around the country when I drove OTR. You have to manage your time or you can lose a few hours easy. Someone that is reAdy to teach someone he’s never met is rare and I enjoy it a lot.
