All good advice so far. I have four bobbins and one is just for 70 denier. I spread it a bit and reduce the tension and my thread breaking went way down. I too am heavy handed sometimes but small jigs use small components. Just another lesson along the way.

For Jigs 1/4 and larger Size A rod wrapping nylon; smaller 2/0 nylon unwaxed is the way to go.

smaller thread like 70 is easier to hide if you desire, thicker thread like 210 is strong but will be visible no matter what, i personally like the 140, and will occasionally use some 70, if your breaking 140 your pulling way to hard or have a bad bobbin

One note about mono, I found it has a tendency to coil a bit. That can be a nuisance at times.

I use everything from 210 flat waxed to 6/0 Uni-thread, the Uni 6/0 has colors I can’t get in Danville threads. I do also like 140 a good bit.
