Wow Dan that is nice work. I think you have gotten good info here on CDC and will enjoy the adventure.
Thanks all. I have checked all references out. I donated (to a great cause) all of the materials that I will need to buy back. Before retiring, I worked as a saltwater fishing guide (Shallow Minded Guide Service). But, such is life… I’m glad to have taken up Sac a Lait fishing. The learning curve is steep, but I am paying my dues to join the club. LOL
My first attempts with limited materials. No scissors. Had to use cutting pliers and nippers for now.

Very nice especially since first ties. Congrats and welcome to the addiction.
I was into surf fishing and like you, practically gave away all my best stuff. Things that took years to find, refine, and create. For me it was the long drive just to get to the beach that ran me off. Now I drive seven minutes and can put the boat in the water and go.
Crappie are an aggressive fish when they feel frisky, but catch them on a bad day and they just stare at your jigs. People here like to surmise things about jigs. Like color don’t matter, eyes don’t matter, line and leaders don’t matter. I think the fish are controlling our behavior at this point and nobody has caught on just yet.
I hope you enjoy your renaissance and contribute often - here - where some still believe in color, eyes, and leaders and stuff from the long ago past. Lots to still discover out there and the meat of the crappie is so fair and delicate that you can prepare them anyway you wish. I am happy with my trade.
Maybe they will bite this one……Jamesdean LIKED above post

Hilarious!
Take their favorite fly, color, jig, etc. away from that fisherman and have him or her fish with something quite different. THEN see if the little things don’t matter to them… LOL
I will be honest, I have a couple of jig combinations that are my go to's, but I am always tryin' different colors, profiles, etc. looking for something else that works maybe a bit better. Maybe at this lake, in these conditions it didn't get bit, but somewhere else under different conditions it will is my philosophy....Don't never say never, and never stop tryin'...
