What I can tell you...the Terra is garbage. I have a travel max catch vise I got off Amazon for around 50 bucks I wouldn't trade for anything. And it definitely gets used.

I would want the rotary function. I’ve heard some good reviews on the griffin odyssey. If it’s not a money issue then look at Regal vises or Norvise. Personally for the money I love my Peak vise.

Thanks SuperDave336. Yeah... kinda a money issue. New and would rather not sink 150 on up into a vise not knowing if I'm gonna take to it. Appreciate the advice. Been eyeing the griffin.

I know that you’re being smart with your money and I respect that. Just keep in mind that good equipment has a good resale value should you not take to it. Also, poor equipment is frustrating when it doesn’t behave. I hope you find one that satisfies your needs. I love my Renzetti.

If you are just starting out the Crown Black Vise is a good, sturdy, and simple choice.

I moved up from a cheap rotary vise to this more sturdy version and it does all that's needed.

There are quite a few pictures from forum members that have that vise in them too.
