I totally feel the same about using bucktail over feather. When I started tying 2 years ago, I focused on using Maribou. Partly, it was cheaper than buying bucktail....but the other part of the equation was that I thought it was what everybody used to tie a jig. I spent a lot of time tying Maribou, and I never felt I was getting a handle on tying it for jigs. This past year, I had a little more money and began buying dyed and natural bucktail. Then, I saw better results.
But this little 32nd & 64th jig that I kinda had a "I gotta try this one" gray Ghost pattern. So I bought the better soft hackle feathers just for this one pattern.

I was provided the stock number for the Chenille that was used for this Gray Ghost project.
It's at Barlows Tackle and it's Pearl Chenille stk#710565, color 125-Pearl Gray....

Looking forward to see it tied up.
I hope I can make them look as well done as Tami McGrann did them. I haven't hardly touched a feather in a year.
It was nice to be provided with exact materials...that's sharing!
I had to order other items to make the order minimum amount...then, it was $8.50 for shipping for what I ordered.. 2 - 2oz powder coat paint and the pearl gray Chenille.

I didn't comment on your Chartreuse head Gray Ghost..
If you've paid attention to my jig offerings, you'd maybe notice a pattern. I usually have Chartreuse heads, and tie them over and over with different color and different materials. Once I went into the world of pill head, I made over a hundred of them, all mostly different in color pattern, but mostly chartreuse heads.
