Jack, the females had roe. Two weeks after the supposed spawn. The one said to occur on the full moon on Feb 16th. Nope. Water warmer than they say it would be at the spawn, and yet here we are.

Now it is possible that these fish were late, but I suspect people don’t really know what to look for as a reliable indicator. One year it just so happened to have been on a full moon, so they figure always on full moon.

Each lake is different as well. Strike two for the full moon theory.

Gonna order two new rods. Considering Southern Crappie in the 14 foot length, with the T designation. Wanting stiffer stronger. The Jenko Spider Troll rods I bought have snapped two tip sections out of four total. Completely my fault, but something stronger will be nice. I understand calling is better than on l8ne ordering.

The tacos turned out OK. I wasn’t impressed, but she said they were good. I’ll have to study up some.

    March…..in like a lion or a lamb ?
Maybe they will bite this one……

Google says in like a lion. I would say those fish spawn in waves. Sure makes more sense to me that they do it that way. Nature always seem to have a backup plan. All fish spawn in one short widow and foul weather or flooding runs the chance to destroy that years entire crop. I need to try fish tacos sometime. Might as well try some shrimp tacos also. I have been experimenting with the spicy chicken sandwiches. I can't quite get it where I want it yet. But it is close
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

Goodness that's a lot of ribs!

On the Crappie spawn, I think they start as early as they get a shot and early Feb is a good bet!
