    This is a good start on the video. Perhaps a bit of very small brown yarn twisted with some tan, sealed at both ends with a lighter before you tie it in, will work with a bit of squirrel tail imbedded for the hairy look in the segments. Tiny died pipe cleaners would make some nice hairy legs. Taper the ends by scorching them. Just thinking outside the box here.

    I think that material is dubbing but not sure what type.

    I am going to experiment some and see if I can get close. I have tied snails with larva lace but my supply is all translucent. Maybe try using marking pens to color it properly

    Then I need to make some like the local ones that make their shells using tiny stones. A little demanding to but not too hard to do. Come to think of it even the ones in the lakes use small stones like the rivers.



    That would one tough one to make from plastics.

    Could be a thick poly yarn, legs look like peacock hearl from an eye and pulled backwards through your nails.
