I haven’t made one yet, but I figured a way to clamp my jig clamps to my desk, and this holds the heads flat. What a difference this makes for putting on eyes.
So now I attach the eye ( some stick well - some flop off easily ) and then I can give a quick brush of UV resin. Not coating, just enough to secure. Then the UV light to quick harden the resin. Then I go for the job of overcoating of the entire jig head. This encapsulates the eye and secures it.
Before this system of holding the jigs flat, the resin would find it’s way to the hook eye and fill it. I noticed that several times that while cleaning the eye that the cured resin would release away from the jig. It must have issues sticking to the smooth surface of the powder paint. So I am now encapsulating the entire head to prevent this.
Thanks again for the idea.
Maybe they will bite this one……
