Yep, I agree with SuperDave. Sometimes things happen. I found your videos on youtube thanks to Dave posting it here from their. Great stuff, and I appreciate the effort that goes into making them. They are very informative for sure. Looking forward to the two-part on doing the crinkle paint. I have to wait till the first but am going to get me some of that crinkle paint for sure...Thanks again.

I still cant get past grey crinkle coating. Doesn’t flow to create effects. I raised oven temp and time. I coated when hot and paint turned shiny and when somewhat cold and paint was powdery looking.
Is it the brand of silver crinkle paint that makes the difference ?
I have run out of ideas.

Try something like a candy or transparent color after a white basecoat. One of my favorites is dip in white base, then dip in candy yellow, tap on orange with brush and into the silver crinkle. I have been baking mine starting at 325 for 10 minutes and then raising temps 25-40 degrees for 5-10 minutes so they run even more. Once I put them in the oven with the heads pointed up I don't open the oven until I am finished. Opening the oven during baking allows cooler air to enter and I think this stops the color separation.
Micanopy thanked you for this post
I dipped in plain white, dipped in transparent yellow, then silver crinkle and got.....beautiful silver crinkle heads. I am beginning to think that the brand of silver crinkle matters. Anyways this is frustrating and I am tossing in the towel on this one. Thanks for trying to help and the jigs look great.
