Default Well it has begun, as if mayfly's weren't enough

If this is anything like my trout fishing addiction I'll probably be divorced soon but some things are really that important.
So here are my first jigs, a little long in the proportions but I'll make some adjustments.

I bought a couple of 25 pk painted jig heads, 1/16 oz, in the colors you guys have shown and just started tying.

So I can already tell that I'll become obsessed with tying jigs. The coffee cup says that the wife and daughter at least know whats coming.

Taking a shower and going down to the local fly shop for materials, I've been stimulated.
We have an order placed for a nice assortment of colors and materials but I can't wait on that.

Plus I do have a bunch of trout fly's to tie up as well.

I have been tying for over 25 years and still enjoy the time I spend at my vise although I don't tie as much as I used to. It's certainly addictive, have enough jigs and materials to start a bait shop. I was hooked the minute I caught a fish on one of my ties and it only get's worse.

Just have fun and enjoy the tying and catching! Since you just started just want to let you know the addiction will get worse before it gets better, lol!

I have 6 cabinets and 6 desk drawers filled with jig heads and tying material. That doesn't include my powder paint materials, that's in another closet. You still have time to seek therapy but if you're like me, it won't help. Enjoy the ride.

Like the rest of these guys...I'm hooked....just did my taxes and I spent over $6000 last year on ebay....most of which was tying related. Sold a bunch to buy more....will it ever stop?

Hahaha that's beautiful! I've spent significant amounts of money on equipment and also made great efforts to go after a single fish. I know a couple of them will probably never get caught.

I can see lead melting in a pot on a fire behind the shed, with molds ready to be poured. Used to fish for crappie years ago with my pops and brothers and used minnows almost exclusively then.

I was also using live bait, night crawlers particularly, for trout then too but now I only fly fish and release them. BUT big slab crappies from clean water will probably not get put back same with slab bluegills.

As you are aware, tieing is very addictive!
    Good luck.
