I've used a Griffin Odyssey Spider vice for 13 years or so now tying everything from #10 hooks up to thick 8/0 and 10/0 saltwater hooks. No need for anything else for what I do. It was pretty cheap.

There’s a Renzetti on eBay, bidding is at $63. Cheapest I’ve seen in a while. Be worth bidding on.

If I was buying a cheap vise I would go with a Griffin or a Danvise. Either will meet your needs.

Danvise. The Odyssey Spider is nice but it uses a screw to open and close the jaw. The cam lever on the Danvise is nicer and easier on the fingers. Don't overtighten the laws and it will last forever. I have tied thousands of jigs on my Danvise over almost a decade and still have the original jaws.
    Don't worry, catch crappie.
