Is this the type of jigs your looking at? It says "black" but website and search said "blake"
Black Lake Hair Jigs – Honey-hole-shop
Maybe someone can help me? I tie my own jigs most of the time. I usually buy what it called the Black Lake hair jig and have had a lot of success in using these jigs. However the original maker of these jigs does not tie anymore and it has been turned over to another person who does not tie as well. (Thread comes unraveled easily). I have to use a drop of super glue or like material to keep the unraveling in check. I have tried to find out what kind of hair is used but to no avail. I used bucktail and kiptail but they seem a little stiff and do not do as well. The hair I'm looking for is a synthetic fine hair that "floats" when jigging in the water. Can anyone help me? Suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes it is..exactly. I was looking for the type hair used to tie my own for my personal use. Nothing like catching fish on a jig you tied yourself. Having trouble buying these jigs because of supply issues in my colors and size I want to use. I have orderd jigs from Honey Hole in the past. If I could find the hair, I could make my own easily. Thanks for your reply...
The website says they are hair jigs and I don't have much experience with them. Hopefully someone like Skip with more experience can answer now that everyone can see them.
I agree tying and then fishing your own jigs, nothing compares.

Looks similar to the raccoon hair that I use.
I get mine from a local fly shop.

I would need better pics? Maybe Fox hair as I have a good many of Fox tails and of course the Arctic Fox pieces too. It also could be synthetic?
Any better picture?

See if any of these pics help. I tried enlarging from Honey Hole website.

So many colors, doubt it's raccoon. Some of it looks as thought it could be Kiptail? That bottom one has me puzzled with so much of it curly (gray part).
If is't not Kip there is a chance it's Fox. After all there are a lot of Fox that are White like the Arctic Fox! Anyone have one in their hands? It would help to see it in hand.
It need to be the kind of hair that can be found White to get the clean dye colors.
Oh and how long is the hair or what size jigs?

Thanks for all the input. It is a synthetic hair I'm quite sure and dyed. So I guess it could just be about anything? LOL The pictures that Super Dave posted is the exact jig in question. I have been using the jigs for years but supply has been become limited and quality has suffered. Hook size is #4 and 1/16 oz. is what I use here on upper (very upper) Toledo Bend. I've not used to many plastics so I may start soon. I've caught fish on my own tied jigs using bucktail and kip tail but the texture of the hairs seem too stiff? Just my opinion. I sure enjoy catching on my own jigs...seems more gooder and the fish taste better??? LOL JK of course....
Do you have a few of the jigs still left? If so, you may have to take it to a store that sells supplies - or send it to one of the members here that tie and sell their jigs. Let them get it in their hands and then copy it. Then it's trial and error - which is the fun part.
