I use a propane torch. I just use the short "fat" propane bottles used for Coleman stoves, etc instead of the tall ones from the hardware store which makes it more stable. I've got a heat gun too and did try it but the propane torch is much faster. I hold a 32nd ounce jig in the flame for about 2-3 seconds.

I use the one from Barlow's Tackle as it's the best I have found. Have to be careful with how tight the lid is on, but the wick and all is good size. Tried a very nice stainless one and it had a smaller wick and I decided fast to go back to the one from Barlow's! Here is a link! Barlow'''s Tackle - Shopping Cart

That may be the same I am not sure, just want it to have the larger wick size to give you the best flame size. I have used these for the last 15 years or so! I believe mine has a 1/4" wick?

The alcohol is cheap and it dopant make any noise, lol!
