Sounds like time for a new heat gun.

I use a propane torch. I just use the short "fat" propane bottles used for Coleman stoves, etc instead of the tall ones from the hardware store which makes it more stable. I've got a heat gun too and did try it but the propane torch is much faster. I hold a 32nd ounce jig in the flame for about 2-3 seconds.

Starting to think heat gun ain’t working right. I think the heat element is going in and out so I’m thinking I heated longer but it was cooling instead of heating. Fan is working but the element is turning off and on. Lol

You'll need high purity fuel.
Regular off the Walmart alcohol won't burn

I use the one from Barlow's Tackle as it's the best I have found. Have to be careful with how tight the lid is on, but the wick and all is good size. That may be the same I am not sure, just want it to have the larger wick size to give you the best flame size. I have used these for the last 15 years or so! I believe mine has a 1/4" wick?

The alcohol is cheap and it dopant make any noise, lol!
