Went down to tie a few Grey Ghosts but saw black and barred feathers laying on the bench.
1/24 oz, sickle hook bent out a bit
There's a little flash in there but you can't see it on this picture

Good ties and good colors & size!
Just be careful what you pick up and tie with, there are some feathers that will get you in a lot of trouble! Like an Eagle feather, you break the law just by picking it up, lol! All songbirds are protected and you can not use their feathers to tie with. Anyway just be careful what you pick up and tie with. I have been tempted so many time because I feed the birds a lot and take their pictures so we have a lot of feathers in the yard just laying there and I just leave them lay and let some bird take it for their nest.

Skip has a excellent point here.
Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. ... The statute makes it unlawful without a waiver to pursue, hunt, take, capture, kill, or sell birds listed therein as migratory birds. The statute does not discriminate between live or dead birds and also grants full protection to any bird parts including feathers, eggs, and nests.
Birds that are considered non-native species such as the House Sparrow and the European Starling are not protected, and many groups of hunted or game birds, including ducks, geese, doves, and many shorebirds are subject to limited protection and can be hunted in season.
All other birds, there are just over 1000 species, are protected by this statute.

I can only assume feathers bought at a fly fishing store are legal

Good looking jig
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
That jig got my attention. I fish a lot of UL and it has the look. I wouldn’t worry about opening up the bend until it becomes an issue. I catch a lot of good fish with #8 sickles. Nice work.
