    Default Bass bucktails

I’ve got a small work tournament this weekend and decided to tie up a few bucktails to try. The hair sticking out around the jig head makes them stand straight up when dropped on the table. Hopefully they will react the same in water so that the hook will be the first thing eaten. Heads are 3/16 and 1/4 with 2/0 and 4/0 hooks. I plan to tie a few more tonight. Name: IMG_3049.jpg

Add a pork chunk and water. It's the time of year for them to be deadly. Nice ties.

A pork chunk is the plan for them. Hopefully they will like them.

Looks like they will work. Good luck at the tournament.

Black and Blue always has been a killer on bass! Good luck! If it was spring I may look at a soft plastic behind it, but cooler water that pork should do the trick!

It was super tough today. We only caught short fish today. Of 11 boats only 3 weighed anything with only one 5 fish limit.

Good looking ties and some good color choices. If and when you need to trim the heads I like a pair of nail clippers, much easier to control and the hair doesn’t roll like it does with scissors. A brown and orange in those would do some serious damage to some smallmouth.

Really though lots go fly tying guys trim deer hair with a double edge razor blade. Is what I use too actually.
