Jig Identification.

I purchased these on Ebay. They were listed as flies which would have been a good deal.
Turned out to be jigs. What species of fish would you say these are best for?

Can't really tell the "size" of them, but from the looks of the hooks I'd say they're Striper baits. Most look to be homemade darters, with some "serious" hooks in them. Don't know where they're from, but could have been made to fish for Bass, Pike, Walleye, etc.

Smaller ones I have seen called Shad Darts for our American Shad. Haven't got a clue what the bigger ones would be for.

Agree maybe stripers, but heck if they are as big as they look, maybe offshore baits?

shad darts, they are very common around here especially in march and april when the shad make their annual run up the rivers. most of the best rivers have significant current so a heavier jig is needed for these areas. 1/4-3/8 is good for that.

I have a bunch of Shad Dart heads and they don't look near this big, maybe this pic is making them look huge?

Shad Darts which work well for any fresh water fish - all look to have mustad hooks. I am interested in the last photo top rt chartreuse head and bottom rt corner space with the white head - these may be football heads made by my family. The shad darts are also very popular that we sell in central NY but don't look like they were tied by us as the collars are rough / tag ends. Where did you buy them?
