Default Big Bite Jig and a variety of others

This is a 2/0 short shank 1/4 oz jig. I put some clothes on it. I been tying a few between drs and weather down time. Tying breaks the boredom. You old folks know what I mean.

Been a while since I posted some jig pics. I am starting to get the hang of things thanks to folks here.

Looks good Tom, I bet you catch some on that!
I also fish in summer with a 1/4 Oz jig much of the time since usually they are so deep here. Also if the wind is up a little I can feel that 1/4 so much better.

I stick my fingers a lot with these short shank jigs. I also cut the thread on occasion. Careless or blind maybe???

Sticking the fingers is inevitable, and cutting the thread is just an aggravating part of the learning curve. Still do that myself when I haven't been to the bench in a while. Like now. Good looking jig Tom. You'll be making folks smile when you give them one or two real soon methinks.

Never tried the short shank hooks. Logic on short shanks ?
Your ties will catch fish for sure.
I seem to knick my thread a lot on the hook point when tying! Doh going to fast.
    Nice ties, thanks for posting.

Cutting thread while wrapping is a big pain in the rear for sure and I do that at times. However using hooks like that I may have to be a lot more careful if I want to get it tied without cutting it, lol! What you have to do it change the angle your wrapping around the hook shank. Once you get use to the angle wrapping it will help, but every once in a while it will still happen! Your just running into things we all run into!
