    Default Synthetic hackle

Just got some synthetic hackle in. I thought I'd try it for body and neck wraps and it was too cold and windy for fishing today...

Just a neck wrap on this one

Looks like they'll get ya a few - if you want to save a bit of money over the tackle prices go to JoAnnes Fabrics or Hobby lobby ... and get some eyelash yarn it's pretty much the same thing.

Looks like some that will boat some crappie! Nice job!

T have had some of that for a long time and have a couple sizes, one is a bit large though and if I tie it then it looks more like a skirt tail which I would probably also tie in a hackle tail first. I have some pics of this that I called Wild Jigs, LOL! The shorter version is I think 3/4" long fibers where the long one I believe is 1 1/4" long fibers like on the jigs in this picture. You may have the same brand, but there are a couple different brands of the same thing around. I think in just one color I have another brand also of the short version.

Also they look good, but that last one looks like a lot of the hackles got trapped in the wraps? When that happens and before you do the finish you can stick the bodkin point in and pluck the fibers out.

Here is a Picture from my web site showing the real long stuff. I thought that I had removed this pic from my site, but all I did was take anything that pointed to these off.

Skip some of it may have got in the wraps, hard for me to tell to be honest. What you may be seeing is the body wrap. This was the first one I tied and I was only wrapping the neck (abput 2 wraps at that )I used cactus chennille for the body to kind of continue the look.
    Here's a better pic

I like the look. Should fall nice and slow, perfect for cold winter fish or when they're just picky.
