The colder the better! Size is very important.
Anybody know what time of year these work best? My first attempt at tying some and wondering if they'd be good right now?

I usually go with those in warmer weather and lean more towards hair in colder water. Just a personal preference. Don't see any reason the would not work. Them sure are some really nice jigs. Great color combos.

Try them all the time!! There will be days when that's all they want others days it's something else BUT!! if you don't try them you won't know or worse if you don't even have them in your box!!
What he said. Real nice work. I've tried em in all kinds of conditions and sometimes they work, others not. Tiny ones with 2 to 4 strands do the trick sometimes too. I used a 1/8 minnow head with white head, red thread collar and white rubber, lots of it, and it was a popular jig til a tree ate it.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I tied all these with 6 strands, not really knowing what is enough

Those should be fine. I tie some with 7 and some with 14. Don't seem to make much difference.

Show us a picture of those Kip Tails in the background. They look good also.

I will have to try some like that. Is that tied with Chanel then the white tied in front of it? Cool jig.
