The bodies are solid lead heads home cast.
I also have been adding tail material to commercial made ice jigs for some time now. Many time this makes a good jig even fish better with no live bait.
I believe in the KISS principle and that was the beginning of the KISS Bugs and Lures.

Lake Superior anglers make and use jigs identical to this when fishing for Kamloops Rainbows [ stocked steelhead]. Stores and bait shops a full of these up in Duluth and points north. Very effective little jig.

I have been using rubber hackle on a regular basis. This type of dressing seems to be very effective as a finesse lure.
Dressing commercial ice lures with rubber hackle really enhances the lures, I call this make overs. Also fur or feathers can be used in the make overs.
There is something about how the rubber moves that attracts a bite. Enclosed are a few more rubber hackle Dressed jigs.Name: IMG_2943.JPG
