With powder paint its not hardly worth the mess of epoxy. I know of a couple guys that have played with it as a top coat but gave it up after having some issues.
Any body use epoxy on their jig heads. If so wondering what kind/ and how u go about doing it. Thanks

I would agree with CTom, powder paint is way to easy!

Im a second generation Tyer and we have always used epoxy paint on all the jigs we make and sell. Both types of paint have their pros & cons - I find epoxy very easy to use.
If I had to wait for paint to dry on a crappie jig I'd never paint one. Powder paint is just so easy.
For clear coatings on big bucktails (1-4 oz) I like it, but most I've tried will yellow over time.
Back when I used testors model paint or viynl I'd use epoxy to coat the heads so plastics wouldn't melt it. Now with the powder paint I don't have to worry about it. I've used the 2 part mix from CS-Coatings and never had a problem with it - just don't mix too much to start.
Epoxy is good stuff, but would be more time consuming and you then need a turning wheel to slow turn the heads while it sets up. So as these guys said, powder paint is best way, but some use and like vinyl which I do some in that too! Powder is still the best easiest way to paint heads!

No special turning tool needed with epoxy paint. I mix my a and b and brush on. The durability is comparable to powder but the benefit to me is that I can paint heads without covering the hook eye. Yes there are ways to do same with powder but then the time per jig increases. Also no rush for me to change as I have about $2k worth of epoxy paint on hand ;-)
