Default Started tearing down the rabbit vest

Well I started tearing down the rabbit skin vest. Started by pushing the fur out of the way and finding the threads. Tried cutting them first and that was a major pain in the butt!!!

As you can see in the first pic, it's all just strips like zonkers (so far regular, so when tying there is going to be a lot of brushing the fur back) inside a sewed up mesh. You can see the strip backs

I found the best way is to just unlace them, go slow and easy and they come right out, and these are how long some of them are coming out

this is just what I have so far

Good looking material. Congrats. The color would make for some great crawfish jigs.

I'd like to but still have to find a way to keep the leather soft and not harden up. I have a message into the guy on you tube that shows dyeing the rabbit skin and after it's still soft and I'd really like to know how he kept it that way.

The strips in the Vest that I have in the pic only came from a small piece of the vest - I haven't even touched the back yet!
