Default Field Testing with the Boys!

I tied MANY jigs before ever getting one wet, this summer the boys and I have been fishing exclusively with the jigs that I have tied. They have been excellent! I have two little boys now who just bring along the crawlers to play with in the boat when they get bored.

I also tied up some to take on a trip to Lake Tanneycomo. I only caught 1 fish on a jig but many more on PowerBait.
Luckily the biggest fish of the trip came on a jig I tied!

Had to release because it was not quite a legal length fish (20") but I would have probably let it go then too!

Thanks for all of the help I received from the seasoned tiers on here! I plan to keep up the hobby and really enjoy using my jigs!

Those green sunfish sure are hard on my jigs! I figure if I can catch 20 fish on one jig they will hold up to most other fish for a lot longer!

Good job and the boys will remember things like this for their whole life. Nice job dad!

On them bream (at least I all all of that family bream) they are really hard on anything you put in front of them. Feathers they will tear up on a regular basis, but if you catching them it will not matter, just tie on another jig.

Yeah they sure are, but I have found that they wear out plastics much faster when they are really biting. I don't mind having to tie a few more jigs!

Oh yes they will tear up some soft plastic fast, LOL! At least it take a bit to eat the tail off a jig amd if you wan to there is always the chance to take off what is left of the tie and re-tie it.
