    Default Hard Body Ant

Been wanting to tie a hard body ant for a while and finally the last week or so I have had time to get other things out of the way so I can tie some stuff that I want to. So here is my Hard Body Ant!

Nice! What are the advantages of hard body over other ants tied? I'm thinking they might sink faster, last longer??

Maybe last longer, but the other types like foam ants or foam bodies are just not like this. If you look up Ants on a place like Fly Tying Forums they have a huge database of picture and you can see most any kind out there at a place like that. I just like this one/style and can do all bBlack or all Red or both like this. Also lasting longer should be part of the advantage this one has.

Really nice tie! I'm just getting into fly fishing and tying flies for fly fishing. Been tying bucktail jigs for white bass and crappie for years. I really like the looks of that ant. would be a great bluegill bait here in southern Missouri.
