Sir I would like to say you are master of copying other peoples jig. The reason I say this, I went to your sight and the jelly jig that you are selling is a copy of the Hal-Fly jigs that are or were made in Ga. Also the new jig, as you call it, I have made for some thirty odd Years. So Please Try To Make something of your own for a change. I'm not mad at anyone just trying to understand some people.

In reality, everything that EVERYONE ties is a self interpretation, or to use your words, a copy of something else from days, years, or even decades ago. Yes, even what you tie ROOTY. Dig through your box and really take a look at your own work. Personally speaking, if that is how you really feel, don't you too copy or try and imitate a particular tie? Or, is every tie you've ever produced your own idea?

Keep goi g Snake, I like your stuff!

The jelly jig has been going around this site for years and are made by many people. As far as the last jig that was posted by Snake River and the comparison to your Rooty Tooty Jig, I have held both in my hands side by side and they look nothing alike. They are not made out of the same material, tied the same or anything else. I guess they both have a hook in them and are made out of lead. As for this newest jig, I myself have seen nothing like it. I will admit that I have not seen every jig ever made though.

What I would recommend is to know who you are talking to and what their back ground is, before talking to someone in the manner in which you just spoke to Snake River. I could be wrong though, maybe they do things differently on the East Coast then we do in the middle of the country. I just think it was out of line to make that large of a blanket statement about anybody that you do not know.

I will shut up now so I do not get the ban hammer. I just can't sit by and let someone talk about someone I consider a friend in that manner.

    Thanks for reading,

    Michael

Tom accept my apologize though neither one of our jigs are exactly the same Tom I will no longer use the resemblance to your jig I will not try to sell it on the Internet or on my website case closed.

the jelly jig I bought the molds from micro spoons quite a few years ago I know nothing about the gentleman that you mentioned but I was told by Keith from microphones that I had every right to make the Jolly jigs I will not stop making them if the please go take a look at Bass Pro there jig lineup you will see the jelly jig we've had the molds for over 10 years , consider you a good person you make a fine jig keep up the good work but sooner or later your idea will be taken away from you by one of the big boys and that is plain fact I am not a person to steal ideals from other people I have never stolen yours really I modified it and use different materials so Tom we will not try to duplicate anything close to yours again I wish you all the best in the world have a nice Thanksgiving Tom.

I don't see the big deal. I used to tie flies for trout fishing. The same patterns were tied and sold by many folks. For example, a Woolley booger. Tied and sold by many a folks and in every fly shop. If someone doesn't want a clone of there tie, then a patent would be the best thing to do but good luck on that. I think slab said it best every jig is a modified version of some one else's down the line somewhere probably, just my opinion.
