I have been emptying my pot lately but I think I had less trouble when I left the lead in the pot. If I remember right the book that came with the pot said to leave the lead in.

I decided after reading this that I needed to clean mine. So yesterday I emptied it out and gave it a good cleaning like Fatman suggested. I was surprised how much gunk I got out of it especially in the pour spout and on the tip. Cleaned it up and cleaned tip on brass wire brush. It sure pours better now:Hands Clapping
