    Default Newbie. with question...

First off... Greetings all from Colorado!
I was urged to join the forum by PBUG2009, who I recently bought some jigs from. Thanks man!
the bad news: I have never fished for crappie a day in my life. Doh
the good news: I am taking my first steps into the world of tying.

I spend most of my days chasing trout in rocky mountain rivers. And I can see mirco jigs being deadly, tied in any number of trout fly patterns. As I am starting to look into purchacing tools and materials I had a question for you all...
does anyone have an opinion on BassPro/White river tying tools and material?
thank all and I look forward to contributing to this forum.

    From Toledo Bend Texas!

Bass Pro and such have good enough materials, but a bit high for me liking. Crazy angler has good prices on materials, I don't know much about his tools as I have not looked. I would also tell you to look at Bob Marriott's as they carry as lot of stuff, probably more than any one I know of. You can get a link up in the stick post at the top of this board. I do think Crazy Angler has better prices on his materials, but don't think he has near the tools that Bob's does. Just look long and hard at your tools if you plan on doing this a long time. There is lots of info in the sticky post above.

A BIG TEXAS HOWDY. Glad to have you on board. I do own some of the BPS equipment. I use there large bobbins and like there bobbin threader but can say nothing of there vices. I to Buy my material from Crazy Angler His service is great and quick. Have tried some other places but was sorely disappointed in quality and service.

Look in the tool section of the forum for reviews and recommendations. There is a sticky on this side of the forum on were to get material. Good luck and remember this is a addictive hobby so be prepared to get hooked yourself.

Should be getting my jigs from PBUG2009 soon, but I am still looking for some super small... Anyone have a source for jigs with size 12/14/16 hooks?
