Powder Coating And Custom Paint Colors And Supplies
Anybody interested in doing a paint swap of sort?? Say we get 4 guys willing to buy 2 lbs (approx $40 + $5 shipping + $5 shipping) each and we all agree on 8 different cool colors from the paint by the pound guys. Then have it shipped to one address. That guy divides all evenly as possible and ships everybody approx 4-oz of the 8 different colors (2 lbs total). Approx $ 1.60 per ounce...Just a thought...

Sounds like a good way to get a variety of colors.
I would be interested in going in on this. If anybody decides to do this, count me in.
Here is the beginning list but I would like to see one more person to make dividing easier. I say we cut it off at one more and see if we can actually get this to work. I like the idea of using Redtexans supplier if they offer a good selection. Some other reasons to use this supplier are because (1) Radtexan has used their product and recommends them, (2) he could possibly pick it up locally and save on shipping costs, (3) the price is less expensive so perhaps we can get a wider variety for the same money, (4) dealing with the supplier in person let you see that what you want is what you actually receive and (5) it may be possible to receive a discount with a larger quanity in person...maybe.
I suggest we all look at their site and everybody pick out 10 or 12 colors each. That way when we compare list and begin narrowing our choices down it should be easier because several HOTT colors will be on most everyone’s list. Let’s set a date of Thursday 2/17 to have our list posted here. Each participant will choose 2 lbs packages of 2 different colors (4 lbs total per person). We will have a total of 32 lbs and 16 different colors. Everyone should end up with approx 4-oz of 16 different color. Approx cost $44 + 6 shipping = $50 or approx $3.15 each for a 4-oz package (retails approx $6 for 2-oz.). If this sounds like something you guys are still interested in, post it here and have your initial list here my Thursday. If you have any question or suggestions, now is the time to discuss them. Let’s make this work guys!

What about the cost of jars or how is it going to be packaged? I assume who to make the checks out to and where to sent them will be anounced later? Count me in, my two coloras are: copper vein and hammer green. Or am I suppose to make more color choices and then you can delete them down? MuskyGary
Welcome Musky Gary, Thanks for joining in and completing the group of 8. I imagine those two colors will be on several lists. That is the reason to pick 10 or 12 colors. Once everyone has made their choice, you will see why 10 to 12 will be needed (maybe more for the initial colors) because several colors will be on different lists. And it is not me who will delete anybody's choice, but a group of 8, to decide on the final colors. I think zip lock baggies are the easiest way to divide and transport. Once you receive your baggies of paint, it will be up to you how to store them. We will work out more details as the project advances. Great questions and thanks again for joining in.
