Warning; If you have problems painting with or curing Pro-Tec powder paint you might not want to get involved with different types of powder paint - yet.

If you don’t know the temperature characteristic of your curing chamber (how far the temp overshoots or recovers) you don’t want to mess with this stuff. The majority of these “other” paints are designed to be applied with a static charge – doesn’t react the same in fluid beds. All powder paint is not the same!!!! Great stuff if you can adapt.

Prowler I posted the link to their color selection above...184 solid colors, plus a few specialties. And with a 4 # or more order ,the price drops to $8.95..# The only downside to this is no candy type colors...

Several here have posted about how we use the clear and glitter to create our own custom colors,so for you that need clear, its the best one I have found.

Musky, I have their gold vein and silver vein, and am not a fan... slight metallic look, but is more polka dot,Ill post some pics of it later.Havent tried the Hammered finish yet, they have let us get some samples in the past to test.

I think zip lock bags would be the best packaging, save on weight and easier to ship..

I think RadTexas has had some experience using their products and can help with those concerns along with contacting the mfg directly. I bought some basement bargain paint from harbor freight and it is different but not a big difference. Thanks LedHed for the heads up though. Are you interested in being a back-up participant if someone decides this is not for them? I like to have a plan B before plan A falls off the track...lol.

Good concerns Led. I dont use a fluid bed but have used their paints for over 3 years now.

6 of us locally have put together these shares over the last few years and none of us have had any problems with the powder.

Couple other thoughts...I think shipping is going to be a little more than 6 dollars...Size wise a 2 # bag, comes to me in a zip tie bag in a 12x12 cardboard box.Probably the 8 or 11 dollar flat rate box from the PO.Not sure what ups would run..

Also with picking up locally,I do have to pay 8.25 % sales tax.

Only thing I would add is if Colombia coatings is what you want then just buy what amount you want as their prices are very good. However I only use their paint on colors I can't get through Pro Tec as their is better/easier to use in a fluid bed. No ones paint separates like Pro Tec and that is just that! If Pro Tec has it I buy theirs and if not I will by another brand, but just for that color.

I already buy my paint by the pound and at time have shared it with others that wanted some. Don't need any right now though.

I have never got it to bubble like Pro-Tec and have used this paint for about 4 years. It will work in a fluid bed, but not like Pro-Tec as it's just different. If you get it set right you can shake it to move a little, but not the same at all. As I said I only use it for colors I can't get from Pro-Tec and I know the price difference,m but for me I like easier.

If you in for the lower cost then I say go for it, but don't expect it to act or look like Pro-Tec in your fluid bed. However since they sell from 2 Oz up you don't so much need help buying it.

One other thing unless they have changed their type of jars, they are not as good either since the inside is not round and smooth.
