Default !!! I need some help!!!

Hi, I was at a lake yesterday and meet a guy who made his own jigs and I thought that it would be a good thing for me to do over the winter when i cant go fishing. I needed help finding a good begginers kit to start making jigs for next spring. The kits i found are only for making flys for fly-fishing......i dont care that much for that. I just wanted to find a good kit to make some awesome crappie and bluegill jigs. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Heres one. I haven't used it cus I started out tying flies and had most of the tools, but Crazy Angler Tackle is a great web site and you'll be hearing alot about it, plus the owner is a member on here, flatfish46. He's a great guy to deal will. Oh and welcome to the site.

Welcome To C.com from MS. You're fixing to start an addictive hobby and you'll get lots of help from the guys on here. I agree, Crazy Angler Tackle is a good place to start. There's a lot of videos on UTube teaching the basics. Good luck man.

    From Toledo Bend Texas!

Personally I don't care much for kits, but if that is what you want ready the threads at the top of this board to see what you want and don't want.

Welcome to the board. If you need help this is the place to start. I agree with Skip a kit is not the way to go. Crazy Angler is a good place to buy reansonible and fast. You will be tying jigs like a champ in no time. Look in the stickys at the top of the page. Be sure to ask questions when in doubt and rememeber the only stupid question is the one that isn't ask.

    All the best

Welcome from Alabama. As others have said I would encourage you to look at the threads and stickies at the top of the jig tying forum. Buy a good rotary vice and ceramic bobbin. Be sure you are using flat waxed nylon threads. You might consider starting with kip tails, marabou, and neck hackle. The most important thing is to have fun. Any of the tiers on this board will help you. Good Luck!

I started off buying a vise and a few essentials; ceramic bobbin, a few threads, chennile, marabou. Also a good pair of small scissors, whip finisher and I always use Sally Hansen clear to lock the ends. Hope this helps....
