    Default "minner imataters "

This is what I am trying to imitate. It is a color phase of the fathead minnow,

I tied one with a bit of orange bucktail the other with red/barred orange marabou. The other two are shiner imatations.

I think for final model I will go with orange/gold heads on the jigs. The orange colored fathead goes by many nicknames . Ruby Reds , Rosy Reds and on and on. I have had good success with the real thing as a trout bait and ice fishing bait. For whatever reason they outfish normally colored fatheads by a substansial margin.

    hays

ya said it before I could even post the body and tail colors look really good but the head color unpainted breaks up the match!! Might have to play a little to match the color of their head like a real pale orange and I see what you mean with the gold (the eye of the minnow) hey it took me a minute LOL.

    Either way buddy NICE!!!!!!!!!

closest color chenille i can think of to that color on them minnows would be (Bait fish in #2,or #3)Then I would use a little red 140 denier for the collar between the jig head and start of the wrapped chenille to imitate red gills.Flat fish carries the color (Baitfish):D

I like the marabou you need some power paint on the head I believe a light orange or something close to that maybe a crawfish color.
