Most hook companies make a hook that will exchange.
i would look them up on the net and ask them which hook will
inter change. or for a conversion chart.
Does anybody pour the Do-It Sea Horse Jig Mold 3/4, 1 and 1-1/2 oz. Model #PHC-3-L? The reason I ask, is I don’t care for the Eagle Claw Hooks they suggest, and was wondering if there was a Mustad or Gamakatsu equivalent. Thanks for any help.

"WELL"...YOU ASKED"NOBODY TELLS ME NOTH'N!!!
I don't cast any pony heads that large but do cast some bullet heads and like to use better qualty hooks mainly for hybrids. The way I see it is to use whatever hook that I think is best for the situation and if it dosen't fit get the dremel tool and make it fit! On a new mold I will cast some up with proper hooks just to make sure the mold is OK. If everything appears to be ok I overhaul it to do what I want.
Man that is some huge size pony heads. Don't use and never have any that size. I don't even use regular spinner baits that big for bass.

Dremel it out a bit the stainless 5/o hooks that Eagle claw makes will take a good fish without problem.
Skip, I have the mold just don't like that type of Eagle Claw hook for that head. The hooks have to be either Black nickel or galvanized. The guy that buys these from me uses them on the ocean. He ties hair on them. He makes a really nice jig.
Crappie.com guys thanks for all the replies very much appreciated. I can modify the mold and use different hooks but I don't have that option right now. I can also get info from other hook manufacturers, but many times their info is incorrect. I would rather get info from someone that is currently making them and knows the hooks fit.

any 90 degree bend hook should work on them. Even on the smaller ones sometimes you have to extend the hole where the hook eye goes.

cadman I do use those hooks for hybrid fishing they will handle a 13lb hybrid caught trolling at 3.5mph without problem. if they do bend they hold up to pressure to bend back true and they stay sharp. I got tired of the bronze hooks breaking when bending them back so I went with stainless. I think in the 8 years we have used the stainless when pouring I have broke one hook and it was a first year head that was several years and many fish old.
