Makes me wanna break out my vise again!!!!!
Where can I buy that jig mold?
What style jig is that?
which one left pic or right left is jacobs baits and right is all my design and is done with hot glue for body.
This is a nice looking jig design. We bought a similar jig in the late 80s early 90s from a guy we fished a fruit jar circuit with in North MS around 87-91. I think he was from around Enid and I'm almost positive his name was Bobby Hopper.
I know I held one back somewhere and I'll post a picture if I can find it. Compared to what you could buy off the shelf back then his baits had a lot brighter colors and two color painted eyes that looked like the glow paint. For the bottom material he used what looked like tiny threads of chrome plastic on some and spinner bait rubber on some. When the bait went down the rubber clung to the body of the bait and when you stopped it the threads sprung out. You would sometimes get a jackhammer trigger strikes when you stopped the bait on the drop. I think most of the money the last year we fished went to someone fishing those baits.
You gentlemen do some amazing work and I may give this bug tying a try on a very small scale.
I found one I had rat holed and think I have a pink one somewhere with a broken hook. My favorite was one very similar to this with a blue & purple body.
I've decided to take stab at tying. I was the Birmingham BPS yesterday and almost pulled the trigger on buying a vise but held off after hearing they offer free class twice a month. I think I'll give it try for free first with some instruction.

Looks like craft fur tail with mixed crystal flash, custom chenille or two colors twisted together then rubber strands on top then tie off.

Thanks Fatman.
I'm glad to know what the mixed crystal flash material is called. He used it most of it on the jigs I used. It seems pretty simple but I'm convenced the rubber wringing out on the bait stop was a big part of the strike trigger.
I've tried tying some of rubber spinner bait material to the bottom of a few Slatters and other jigs but without a vise I never managed the same effect.
This is my first few attempts at tying jigs. Imput welcome. I will also post in the main forum under an individual thead. Thanks, Bobo
